Summer Time

It has been a record breaking summer.  Temperatures have been quite high... even this little key chain has given us an idea of what the temperature has been at.  This was even taken in the shade.

"I love Jonas"

Driving in the car, Jonas had fallen asleep.  A voice from the back says...
"I love Jonas... he's so cute.  He's my good buddy."
"You love Jonas?" I asked
"Yup, he's Sooo cute" he replied
"I love him too." I said.
"I want to keep him forever!" Zachary said "Did we borrow him? Cause I want to keep him forever!"
"Nope we didn't borrow him, he is ours to keep for ever!"

Summer Camp

For the week July 6th through to July 10th, Zachary has been at a summer camp, The Cowboy Corral. There are kids of all ages, and they are divided by age. Each group of kids is marked with a colour. Sadly Zachary's group is not his favorite colour red, but they are the Green Cactus. I think it is a great colour for our environmentally friendly world.

This summer camp is held at The Grove Church where he also attends his preschool. Imagine his surprise and excitement to see many of his preschool pals.

It is fun to have something every morning. Jonas and I are enjoying the one on one time, and are getting quite a few errands done. The cowboy boot was the art work he had been working on during the 'craft' segment, it is a magnet displayed proudly on our fridge.
They play games outside, have snacks, there was a day with a bouncy castle, and even some farm animals came to visit. They sing and dance, and from the looks of things have a great time!

Rainy Days and Mondays

One rainy Vancouver day, Zachary and his mommy went outside for an adventure.

As they explored areas near and far, Zachary found something he hadn't seen before.

"Mommy come see this..." he said.
"What is it Zachary, I don't see anything." She replied.
As Zachary's mommy came closer she saw what appeared like a small rock, at first. As Zachary went to poke it he asked "What is it Mommy?"
"Eww don't touch it, you'll scare it."

Zachary went to get his butterfly/poolcleaning net and scooped up the new creature. Zachary took the shell out of the net and placed it on the ground. Both Zachary and his Mommy crouched quietly by the small creature and watched as it came out from his shell, stretched out, and rolled itself over, then slowly wander off.

ABC'S

After reading an alphabet book to Zachary before bed, he wanted me to spell out his name in letters.  I flipped from page to page showing him letter by letter his name.  Then he wanted Jonas' name.  He noticed that both he and Jonas had an "A".  Then it was my name he needed to see.  Again an "A".  Last he wanted daddy's name.  S...C...O...T...T I showed him.
Two "A's and 2 "T's" he pointed out when I finished.

Summer Fun

Look what I found!

Left alone to doodle, Zachary discovered doodling is a lot more fun on him.

Three years married to my best friend

For our anniversary this year, we took a last minute trip up the Sunshine Coast to the West Coast Wilderness Lodge.  The lodge is located in the little fishing village Egmont.  It was a perfect escape from everything, just the two of us.  It was a beautiful place, right up our alley.

More to come on this adventure, it is too hot to sit at the computer.
