Zachary NHSC 2013

This past week the boys attended the Northwestern Hockey Sports Camp in Ignace.  To end the week the camp has a game.  Here are Zachary's shifts (he is on the red team with blue and white socks).
Zachary had a great cheering section - Omama, Opapa, Plony, Grandpa GG & Teena, Papa & Oma, Uncle Mike, Auntie Care, Baylee, Macy, and Jonas.

Boys in a tulip field...

My boys are pretty great when it come to them letting me take their photo.  They are getting quite used to me taking them.  But boys will be boys.
Here in a beautiful tulip field in Skagit WA, as I try to capture some sweet brotherly photos, I get so much more.  Here are my candid boy moments... tulips - mud - hugs - and shoves.

I love these 2!!

I have a few more to share.  Stay tuned!

I am having some trouble with uploading the video from my video camera to my Macbook.  So in the meantime, here are some photos of Jonas playing hockey.

Jonas on Ice

Growing up where both Scott and I did, skating and playing hockey are like walking... you are just born to do it.  Out here on the west coast it is not as common, but many still take part (many little boys want to play for the Vancouver Canucks one day).  Where I grew up there were lakes and homemade rinks every winter, so it was easy to learn and practice.
We thought it would be important for our boys to also have a start on skates.  Zachary started his sporting adventures with soccer, and unfortunately we did get him on skates until he was a little older.  He has taken lessons and can skate forward, backward and can stop.  He wasn't crazy about it, so it has ended there.  Jonas on the other hand is 4 and we got him into lessons this past fall.   Jonas seemed to catch on pretty quick and even enjoyed it.  Here is a little video of his progress.

What to Wear

Thanks to the wonderful world of Pinterest I am able to do so many things.  If you haven't joined this world you should look into it - but it can be a time sucker if you are not careful.

One of my boards is called "My Style" and I use it almost everyday.  I am a stay at home mom now, and I don't want to fall into a slump of wearing sweats and lounging all day.  The main reason for me to be a stay at home mom is to spend quality time with the boys - help Zachary with homework etc, and get that one on one time in with Jonas before he starts kindergarden.

I feel the most productive when I get up early (now Jo and I are doing a workout together at 6am my time 9am hers) have a shower, dress for the day and then get the boys up.  I like having a morning routine so we don't over sleep and feel rushed to get out the door.  Pinterest also has lead me to great Blogs and Websites that have helped with home cleaning and organization - but that could be a post all on its own.

So back to "My Style" pin board.  This board isn't to lead me to or remind me of great Blog posts or Websites, this board is just inspiration for what to wear.  There are items that I have pinned that I don't have, but just really love the look or style, which is how the board started.  Now I pin things that I know I have something similar, or like and will keep an eye out when I'm shopping (I prefer to shop at The Salvation Army since I am on a tight budget and inspired outfits just seem to be easier to find).

Even thought I don't need to worry about what to wear for work, I still like the idea of wearing something that has had a little thought.  Either way I need to do laundry, be it comfy yoga pants and a hoodie, or jeans and fun sweater or trendy top.  It's fun (and good for the mind) to put things together, thinking about the footwear, accessories, jackets, handbags and all that goes into a fabulous outfit.  Don't get me wrong there are days that are just jeans and a t-shirt, but it still has some thought that goes into it.

In the evening or just after my alarm goes off in the morning, I flip on my Pinterest board and scan through for what to wear.  Then I pull from my closet the things that are similar.  Fun!

Here is an example of my Pinterest inspiration and recreation...

Simple and fun.  I wore flat dark brown boots (just about the same colour as the scarf) and a brown purse.  :)

Zachary's Birthday

On January 10 2013 Zachary turned 8!!  For his birthday we brought a few of his friends up to Hemmlock Ski Resort Tube Park.  We had a blast!!

Zachary and Kaden went down together a few times.  Jonas went down with Daddy!

Sorry this was a little late.  I might be a stay at home mom, but it is hard to find the time to upload and post.  I will try to stay on it a little more :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Zachary made Valentine's for his classmates.  Some say "Glad we are in the same school", "I saw you and I was hooked" or "You are the best fish in the sea".  We added fun fish stickers on fish bowls.  In the bag with the fish bowls are gummy whales and cinnamon hearts.  He made one for each kid in this class.
Sending love to everyone on this love inspired day.

A Little Soccer Action

Zachary has been playing soccer for almost 4 years now.  This season he has a game every Saturday at 12 noon - rain or shine.  Today was a little drizzly and quite chilly (unfair of me to say chilly when my family has been enduring -40 Celsius for the last few days).  Here a some action shots from todays game.  Zachary scored the first goal.
