Glory to God & Peace on Earth

8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

A Christmas Play Preview

This afternoon Zachary's preschool class performed "The Christmas Story". It was very cute. His class had their special performance for parents. This Friday will be the big Christmas Concert. Since all the Discovery Station Preschools will be combined, not all the kids will have a big part. This little presentation was a preview and a chance to see our little star in action.
Zachary was the loudest and spoke the clearest. I am so proud!

Fun Fact

Fun Fact: Jonas will try to carry much more than he really can. If he as something already and wants more, he adds it to the collection. When we clean up, he quite often will collect the most at one time. Even when he was really little and he would collect things in his hands, he would always stick out one finger to collect that one last thing.
Watching him sometimes reminds me of Gus from Cinderella collecting the seeds.

Zachary's Sister

"I love my boys" I say as I cuddle with them. "Do you wish you had a sister?" I ask.
"We already have a sister" Zachary replies.
"You do?"
"Ya in Auntie Care's belly."
"No, silly that is your cousin" I explain. "But do you think it will be a girl?"

"I dunno" he said with a shrug.

Doing something for someone else

Yesterday I cut off just over 18 inches of hair. I donated it to the BC Cancer Society, so it would be used to make a real hair wig. The wigs are made for those who have lost their hair during their fight against cancer. I was able to hand over the locks to a BC Cancer Rep. You can also mail in your hair donation, like my wonderful sister (in law). She had made her donation awhile back. She was my inspiration for my donation. It feels so good to do something that will make someone feel beautiful, and put a smile on their face. There are many ways to donate and join the fight. For information check out www.cancer.ca.

A Sweet Ending

From Kashabowie to Ignace. With great food, unreal scenery, and even better company, we spent a few days fishing, laughing and enjoying time together.

A trip to Seseganaga Lake was a wonderful get-a-way for a celebration of 50 years of life. We are so fortunate to have the most wonderful place on Earth to visit. We love living in beautiful British Columbia, but we sure know where we came from. There's no place like home!

Thank you to all our friends and family for the memories made. We look forward to another amazing visit next year!

Start to a Wonderful Visit

Our trip to Ontario started in Thunder Bay.
Then off we went to enjoy all that Kashabowie Lake has to offer.

I didn't think he would actually catch one. But all morning Zachary had an eye on catching a chipmunk that had been eating the seeds set out for the birds. With excitement he called out to me "I GOT HIM!" I didn't believe it until I saw it. He sure did catch that little guy!

No trip to Kash is complete with out a ride on the pontoon boat with Nanny.

We had a great time in the sand and surf!

First Skating lessons

Zachary has started skating lessons. He is very exited and looking forward to becoming a hockey player. This is what he tells me anyway.

The first lessons where tough. Getting used to standing in skates, let alone walk in them... onto ice, took a bit to get used it. He spent quite a bit of time sitting and crawling on the ice. But by his second lesson there was such an improvement. I have to admit that I was so proud it was hard to contain myself from cheering. I enjoyed watching him go from just sitting and crawling around, to stand up all by himself. Then start to move around up right. He has started to skate more then fall. It is very exciting and I hope to post some video in the near future... stay tuned :)

Jonas cheers from the side lines

Hoping to have his turn in the near future

Milk & Cookies

Durning these long days, I try to have a moment with the boys when it is just us doing something special. One evening after dinner, the kids and I had Oreos & milk for dessert. It was a nice time to just sit together in our jammies dipping our cookies in milk. Combined with Jonas' cold, he had created a little mess. I was able to snap one quick picture of him before another face appeared through my lens. I love all our little moments... never short of a few giggles!

Cleverly Hilarious

Jonas knows where to put his yogurt tube wrapper when he is finished... the garbage. He has become very good about putting his garbage in the garbage.
One afternoon after I changed him, he picked up the old diaper. "All done" I said assuming he would take it to the garbage. "Put it in the garbage Jonas." Scott said... assuming the same. Jonas with that look on his face started to walk toward the kitchen, but didn't go in.
"In the garbage." Scott said again. "I bet he is going to put it in the toilet." I said laughing at the thought. Jonas just kept walking straight to the bathroom. When he went in Scott ran after with fear I might be right. Not being quite quick enough, Scott got to the bathroom and found Jonas closing the lid of the toilet and reaching the handle to flush. He had already tossed the diaper in.
Who knew he was so smart. I mean it really does make sense... a little.

Hands Full

Not sure how, but if you look a Jonas' hand he is holding not one but two balls. I have come to learn that children have suction cup fingers. Jonas is also the kind of kid, that when he has his hands full, he always finds room for one more.

This summer we had the opportunity to get away with the greatest family on earth. Most of us where able to ride in on the Otter with Captain Randy. On the way up Zachary was able to be co-pilot, something he loves to do.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours.

We are still here...

I would like to apologize to the wonderful people that read and follow my blog. Good and bad news... Good news I have been promoted within a company I enjoy working for. Bad news... I hardly find the time to keep up on the little things like my blog. I officially started my new position October 1st 2009. It has been an adjustment on my little family. The boys are now in daycare full time. And Scott and I are doing the best we can to balance our time. It has become a busy life and we are slowly easing into the changes.

So I would first like to say Happy Birthday to my very wonderful brother Mike. Who on September 23 celebrated his birthday with his beautiful glowing wife. I wish that the boys and I were closer to celebrate with him. We were celebrating with him in spirit. Happy Belated Birthday Uncle Mike!

Second I plan to just sit down at the computer one evening this (long) holiday weekend, and get you all caught up.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are all doing well and continuing to giggle our way through every day together.

Love to all and may laughter fill your home as much as it does ours.

Krista

Happy Birthday Papa

Happy Birthday from all of us out here! I personally would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to the role model in my life. To the man who I only hope to be just like, Daddy, I look up to you and love you more than I can ever express. Hope your day is one of the best, you deserve it.
Love you always and forever!

First Words

During our wonderful visit with our family in Ontario, Jonas said his first word. He has been saying the typical words like mama, dada, buba... and so on. While we were enjoying the summer weather out at camp on Kashabowie Lake, Zachary was blowing bubbles. Continuously Nanny and I would say bubbles. When there was a moment of silence a small little voice said " Bub... ble". Nanny and I were blown away. "Bub...ble" Jonas would say. It was a beautiful thing. Before the end of our visit Jonas was also saying "Papa" when he would see pictures or the real Papa. "Jersey", Uncle Mike and Auntie Care's puppy was another word heard in the little voice. Auntie Jo was also determined to have Jonas say "Auntie". He is really quite close.
It is very exciting to watch our little wonder grow so quickly before our eyes.

"When I grow up..."

Zachary came to work with me early today to take a flight with Andrea (Scott's cousin who has been our babysitter for the last few months) to go to Sechelt*. In the car on the way Zachary's sweet little voice from the back said "Mommy... know what I want to be when I grow up?"
He started to list off a few things, first with race car driver, then rescue guy... so I asked "like a fireman?". So along with race car driver, fire/rescue guy, scoop driver (scoop is a character from Bob the Builder... an excavator) he would also like to be a house builder. I asked him if he would like to build homes for those who do not have homes.
"You tell me who needs a house and I will come build it for them." he replied.
I love that most of what he wants to do involves helping others. He is going to grow up to do some amazing things, I can see it in his eyes.

*Andrea and her fiance Zack live in Sechelt. Sechelt is a small town along the sunshine coast of beautiful British Columbia. I highly recommend that if you are in or around the Vancouver area to check it out.
